Senior Consultant Raina Shah was a speaker at the University of Michigan Decision Consortium seminar series this fall, where she presented on public health risk communication to students and faculty. Drawing on her extensive background in human factors and warnings, Ms. Shah addressed timely issues such as the role of manufacturers in communicating information about public health risks, tradeoffs between simple versus complex public health messages, and thresholds for providing information.
