Regulations
We frequently assist clients in conforming with regulatory requirements, communicating with regulatory agencies, and providing input in the rulemaking process.  Our staff has worked with a wide variety of regulations, including requirements from the following agencies:

Standards
We provide consulting services and training to help clients understand and apply standards, and we participate in the consensus standards development process. Our staff members chair, participate in, or actively follow standards activities such as the following:

    • American National Standards Institute Z129.1/2400.1 American National Standard for Hazardous Workplace Chemicals – Hazard Evaluation and Safety Data Sheets and Precautionary Labeling Preparation
    • ANSI Z10, American National Standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems
    • American Society of Safety Engineers Standards Development Committee, which oversees the work of the following ANSI standards committees:
      • A1264 Committee on Protection of Floor and Wall Openings, which develops:
        • ANSI A1264.1: Safety Requirements for Workplace Floor and Wall Openings, Stairs and Railing Systems
        • ANSI A1264.2: Standard for the Provision of Slip Resistance on Walking-Working Surfaces
        • ANSI/ASSE TR – A1264.3: “Using Variable Angle Tribometers (VAT) for Measurement of the Slip Resistance of Walkway Surfaces.”
      • Z87 Committee on Eye and Face Protection, which develops ANSI Z87.1: Practice for Occupational and Educational Eye and Face Protection
      • Z117 Committee on Confined Spaces, which develops ANSI Z117.1: Safety Requirements for Confined Spaces
      • Z359 Committee on Fall Protection, which develops ANSI Z359.1: Safety Requirements for Personal Fall Arrest Systems
      • Z390 Committee on Hydrogen Sulfide Safety Training, which develops ANSI Z390.1: Accepted Practices for Hydrogen Sulfide Safety Training Programs
      • Z490 Committee on Safety, Health and Environmental Training, which develops ANSI Z490.1: Criteria for Best Practices in Safety, Health and Environmental Training
      • Z590 Committee on Competence and Certification in the Safety Profession, which develops ANSI Z590.1: Criteria for Establishing Levels of Competence in Certification in the Safety Profession (under development)
